What is a music quiz?
A music quiz (also known as a "guess the song" game) is a game where participants listen to song excerpts and try to guess the artist and/or title as fast as possible. It's a popular game among friends, at parties, or online.
Is Melomatch free?
Yes, Melomatch is completely free: play, open a room, build your own music quizzes. Only the optional AI generation needs your own API key (Gemini offers a free quota).
How many players can join?
There's no strict limit. Melomatch works in real time and supports dozens of simultaneous players in a single room.
Do I need an account to play?
No! You can join a room, or open one from the existing playlists, without an account. A Google or Discord account lets you create your own music quizzes in the Studio and keep your XP.
What music genres are available?
All of them! Pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic, classical, jazz, movie soundtracks, K-pop… The library grows with the community, and you can build your own playlist on any theme.
Can I create a music quiz with AI?
Yes, as an option. Describe your theme and AI (Claude, OpenAI or Gemini, with your own API key) suggests the tracks. You review and fix them in the Studio before playing.
